Brimstone Hill Fort - St. Kitts

Brimstone Hill Fortress was started in 1690 and was a sight of many conflicts between the French and British during the colonial era. Slave labor was used to build the various quarters, bastions and the citadel. The citadel is in the shape of a pentagon! (I thought that was rather funny.) The rampart up to the citadel is very steep and I just about turned around due to a weird sense of vertigo and my general fear of heights! Off the northern edge you can see St. Eustatius and Saba.
