The Beginning of the End
Well, I put Brian on the bus at 3:20 this morning and cried the whole way home. On the bright side, this is the beginning of the end of our "Working vacation in a third world nation" (Yes, that is a Buffett line, specifically from the song Domino College, which just happens to be in Butler's Village, Nevis.)
So, on Brian's last day here, we went for our long run rather than going alone today. The goal was 10.5 miles today. Brian has had some problems with a calf muscle and had to walk about 4.5 miles in and ice his leg. So, the last 6 miles I ran by myself. So, I finished the 10.5 in 1 hour 48 minutes 52 seconds, which is only 1 minute 52 seconds longer than my 10 mile from last week. So, I am very pleased.Anyway, the kids wanted to "do" something so we went to the Stone Quarry Park in town and played some mini-golf. Brian and the kids also took advantage of the batting cages while we were there. Then, we came home and started making homemade pizza. That was good. Then we built a fire in the outdoor fire pit and the kids roasted marshmallows.
Our last day on Nevis we took the roaming rubber chicken and made a noose around it and hung it in Bob's apartment from the ceiling fan. It should be interesting to hear about his reaction when Bob returns to Nevis - LOL

I just realized that I had to change my user location and profile since I am no longer living on Nevis, which sucks. Brian didn't want to leave this morning, and I didn't want to be left behind here. BUT it is the beginning of the end! December 12 is graduation and Brian has vowed not to fail any classes LOL. In general though, the house feels pretty empty right now without him.
