My Life as a Soccer Mom
We've been very fortunate weather-wise this soccer season. Each weekend has been very pleasant. There is usually at least one game that it tries to snow but no this year. Nolan's team is still totally defeated.....yes, you read that correctly....poor kids haven't won a game yet. They enter the tournament at the bottom of the bracket so we can only hope the team they play has even worse luck! I must say this though....they have improved incredibly. Last Saturday Nolan played right forward the entire game and he and the center fielder worked quite well together. I was pretty impressed with their intentional passes! Nolan usually plays mid-field or sweep, so it was exciting to see him in a more aggressive and assertive position. He did a really nice job...and that's not just me as his mother talking. Since he's been playing soccer since pre-K, I have developed a pretty good idea on what's good and what's not.....he definitely has potential!
Michaila has been busy getting her Halloween costume put together. This year she has decided to be a devil. Unfortunately, her idea of devil is a lot more grown up than my idea....that is skirts, heels, lipstick, etc. A bit to sexy for a ten-year-old if you ask me, but she is so excited. And, she is definitely growing up on me. Grrr. Otherwise, she seems to be having a lot of fun at school with her friends Kylie and Elyse.
The White Sox won, which means I am rooting for our cross-town rivals, but you have to root for the home team I guess. I love the playoffs; it really is the best baseball! Tomorrow I start my first doctoral class (nerves are setting in on this one), and I am busy trying to finish out term 1 at work! Yeah, the year is 1/4 done...know what that means? Yep, only 3 terms to go, and I am back on the island!!! Not that Nevis is that great, but at least I get to sleep in the same bed as my husband for more than a week, sun on the beach, and generally relax! Which leads me to the best news of all...Brian will be home late Thursday for the long weekend break. We are looking forward to that a lot! December turned out to be too far away!

I'm excited for the White Sox. They are my pick to win it all. I want them to play Houston. They were so close last night to winning the division and then at the last possible moment they lost the game. They're still ahead though. It's awesome for the WSox!
