What have I done?

Well, Brian is somewhere over Chicago getting ready to land as I write this blog-note. We decided a few weeks ago that he should come home over his "break", if you can call it that, and see his wife and kis. All of us are so excited. Since beef (real beef) is rare on the island, I bought two steaks to grill tomorrow. I think he will like that!

Tuesday I started my doctoral program. My head is spinning right now....I don't think I have used this much brain power since I wrote my Master's thesis! My advisor is very good about checking in with me to make sure I am progressing (even though it's only been two days)! Next week will be a huge challege...I have to write a paper about my dreams and aspirations...ie. why I want a doctorate. I hate these type of papers. On top of it, I have to have at least 3 sources...grr. If I pass the first course with a "B" or better I can continue in the program, and I will fly to Phoenix in December for an 8-day residency program. I received the schedule today....it is 8 solid days of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. work. I have never been to Phoenix, but it looks like I won't see it either unless I stay over a day, which is tempting since the Friday session goes until 5 p.m. (7 p.m. Central). That would put me in Rockford after midnight, which sounds awful! So, needless to say, I am wondering what I have gotten myself into. If I just keep telling myself Brian and I will be "Drs. Cubed" I think I'll be fine.

Good luck to you with the doctorate program. Dr. Dusti sounds pretty good! Haha. Don't study so much that you don't have fun with your husband this weekend! He's lucky to be out of here...for more reasons than one...but the one I'm referring to is the rain! It's raining again and we're supposed to go over to the Marriott for the weekend. I hope the sky perks up. See ya, Dani :-)
