Goats Do Roam
Brian left yesterday morning. We had a nice weekend. Friday we spent the day alone in Rockford while the kids were at school. We had lunch at JMK Nippon, a local Japanese restaurant. They have great sushi and miso soup so we split a Sushi platter. It was yummy. We also ran to World Market, which has a great wine selection. Brian picked out a few bottles to take back to Nevis. One, he had to buy...it was called "Goats Do Roam." No kidding! World Market usually has good wine, so I can't wait to try it if for nothing else that the name is so Nevisian! That evening we grilled steaks and built a fire in the fireplace.
Saturday Nolan had a soccer game bright and early so we trekked to Oregon. The weather was cold and damp. Plus, the team lost. Nolan played forward again and had a few runs at the goal, but nothing connected. Too bad, but that meant we didn't have to sit in the cold anymore! The kids wanted to go to Cold Stone Creamery, which is an ice cream store that mixes your flavor with whatever you want. So, we went to Rockford for lunch and ice cream. That evening we made "baseball" food. Real ballpark and hebrew national dogs, soft pretzels, nachos, peanuts, etc. All in honor of the start of the World Series!
Sunday we hung around the house. It was a dreary day outside. Brian played GameBoy with the kids, and we arranged the office so I can study more effectively. It was really a nice day. Monday morning I took Brian to the bus on my way to work.
